Day 5

We got to sleep in this morning which meant we weren't as tired when we were picked up by our partner school. At school we showed them pictures of our school and the things we have built in the school grounds to promote wildlife. We then went to the university where we enjoyed an exhibition of stuffed animals- there was every animal imaginable! We then looked at lots of traditional Chinese artefacts and saw a painting that is worth millions of pounds (and it was a picture of shrimps!) We had lunch at school again, then went to a polar world. We saw a seal performance which was funny as everyone was getting wet. Paul threw a hoop for one of the seals to catch. We even fed them! We then saw a whale show where the whales made a shape of a heart with their bodies. We are going out again tonight for another banquet- and probably more toasting. Miss Hepworth is getting very good at making 'on the spot speeches'. Didn't go to tiger zoo- think we are going tomorrow and then we are flying back to Beijing. Leaving one more day to shop and buy presents.

  1. Anonymous said...Hi guys,

A lie in, I bet you were glad of that. I would love to have seen the animal show, especially the seals as they are so clever. Am so pleased you threw the hoop PJ i bet it was great fun and I bet you got wet too x Hmmm, the picture of the shrimps seems a bit pricey. It will give the one your dad saw in London a run for its money. was it big? I hope you do see the tigers tomorrow x With all the food you are eating, I wont have to feed you for a week when you get home x I expect a good toast at tea time when you get back because it sounds like you have had lots of practice x Enjoy Beijing - try and stay cool. I am back at work tomorrow, not looking forward to it, but am really looking forward to Sunday. I cant believe I am going to say this PJ, but it is far too quiet without you and I miss the sound of your voice. Not long to wait now. Love you to bits m.s.a x x x hope you can work it out x x x x All my love Mam, Paul and Natalie.

PS Nana and grandad send all their love x x x

  2. Hi everyone
it's great that the cultural exchange is still going well. I am glad to hear that you didn't have to eat any of the animals you saw today. Kate please don't volunteer to throw rings for the tigers tomorrow.

We are clearing the house at the moment to make space for all of our presents.

it is going to take some time for you to get used to life back in Sunderland. I understand that Mrs Thompson is arranging a 14 course school lunch on Monday to help.

Kate - can't wait to see you on Sunday. I think that the occasion should be marked by one of Miss Hepworth's World famous speeches.

    love Dad xxxx oooo xxxx

Hope you've had another good night. I was beginning to worry you would be too tired or too full to enjoy yourselves. I hope your taking lots of photos to share when you get home. Kate - Dad has used all of his best jokes today so I hope he made you smile at least a little. Still can't believe your that far away from home - 3 more sleeps to go for me I'm trying not to count the hours. Lots of love Mam oxo

  10. hey everyone,

No new posts, but soon you will be about to start your long journey home and we just wanted to wish you all a safe journey home. Try and get some sleep on the plane so you wont be as tired when you get home. We cant wait for you to come home and PJ, I cant wait to give you a big hug when you walk through the gate, so you better be ready for the hug to end all hugs because I have missed you so much. Will have to race to beat your dad as he has missed you too. I hope you can remember lots about your amazing time because everyone is dying to know all about it. Kate, I think there will be a fight to get to you because your family have missed you so much. your dads posts have made me chuckle. Miss Hepworth, thank you so much for keeping PJ and Kate safe. It was such a big responsibility and you were so calm about it. Not many people would do what you have done. PJs life will have changed so much for the better after that. Love to you all and have a safe trip x x x PJ love you to bits all our love mam, paul and Natalie x x x x
