Day 3

Flew to harbin today. Greeted at airport with flowers- made us feel like pop stars. Had to go to a formal meeting where we were given lovely gifts. We then had another Chinese banquet- far too much food for us to eat. We walked home from the restaurant and were amazed to see how many people were out on a Tuesday night. There were lots of shops, dancing in the street, people flying kites, a fountain music display and a lights display- we have all agreed we want to come back here on holiday. Tomorrow we are in school and have a very busy day. Love Kate, Paul and Miss Hepworth

  3. Hi everyone,

So glad that you have arrived safe and sound in Harbin.... It is brilliant for the city of Harbin that you are there and if you think you have been treated like pop stars at the airport..... wait until you go to school!!! Harbin is an amazing city. Keep your eyes open for the Russian buildings especially the church in the main square. You should be able to see all the Russian dolls in the shops as well. Harbin was greatly influenced by Russia many years ago.

Just be glad that it is Summer ... In the WInter is goes to about -40 degrees and they host the international ice sculpting festival. The schools close for weeks!!!!

Enjoy school tomorrow and don't forget to take part in as many activities as you can. The school have a photographer so they should be able to take some excellent photographs. You will meet the pupils and teachers of our partner school which has about 1000 pupils! Hopefully the children in the school will come back to our school in the near future.

Lots of love Mrs Thompson xx

    To the BB Adventurers
Who could have anticipated all of the fabulous experiences you are having in China? It really is the trip of a lifetime. I hope that Miss Vasey has forwarded your school work to Harbin - You can't be having fun all of the time.
Kate you will have to come home soon - Libby is driving me bonkers! Our family holidays will be boring after this. I think we'll have to rethink the camping holiday to Seaburn.
Missing you lots. I think I will drive to Newcastle Airport tomorrow just to make sure that we are there on time for Sunday.
